WHO WE ARE
In Ontario, the Twinn name has been synonymous with pest control since the 1940's, when Roy Twinn established his business to serve the institutional, commercial and residential sectors. Since entering the profession in 1979, Jeff Twinn, President of Twinn Pest Control, has carried on the family tradition of providing result-oriented client service.
Jeff brings to his work a special commitment to environmentally sound pest control technologies. A leader in pest control education, he has also taught at the University of Guelph, Algonquin College and addressed many professional conferences.
In 1996 Jeff was appointed to the Pesticide Advisory Committee, where he lead a team responsible for reviewing the Pesticide Act of Ontario and preparing recommendations for the Minister of the Environment.
PEOPLE & IPM
There's no doubt about it - insects and rodents are a critical part of our ecosystem, helping to maintain our planet's delicate balance. But that doesn't mean we have to welcome them into our workplace or homes, where they can spread disease and cause structural damage.
INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT OR IPM
THE FOUR STAGE APPROACH
IPM Employs a four-stage program for dealing with pest:
- identification of the pest and the extent of the problem
- development of a strategy which specifically targets the pest
- implementation of an action plan
- maintenance and follow-up to ensure each step in the IPM process builds toward a long-
term solution your pest control problem.
A "quick fix" doesn't really fix anything at all - at best it just masks the symptoms and before you know it the problem is back. Twinn Pest Control always takes the long range view in planning your pest control program
PEST CONTROL & THE ENVIRONMENT
While environmentally safe sprays may be used in your pest control program, they are applied as only one element in an overall strategy which can include baits, trapping, access restrictions and other approaches. Whenwe do use sprays, they are organic products which target only the pest and rapidly break down into harmless components.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Protecting the health and safety of your employees, customers and family is a central issue when pest control becomes a necessity. The IPM approach used by Twinn Pest Control assesses all environmental factors and ensures that health safeguards are an integral part of the control plan
